Dee
The sun has come creeping by,
Hiding behind the clouds, it peeps delicately, shy,
The sky is bright blue,
Birds fly about, a mere few,
Where would life take me, I wonder,
What lies beyond, yonder,
Questions drown my consciousness,
What lies ahead, sorrow? happiness?

The warmth of the sun blankets my shivering soul,
Something's amiss, a dark unending hole,
Burrowing through the conscience that cemented my being,
Do I fight or should I be fleeing,
Thoughts akind are the darkest of all,
What is my purpose, what is my call,

When shopping malls and MTV lay waste the minds of the young,
My spirit burnt, heart stung,
Where is the depth? The meaning?
Why this cold unamed feeling?
Should I embrace the triviality?
Should I live a meaningless reality?

To look inward without answers,
The mind thrives but the heart suffers,
Such a conflict, almost a parody,
A will dying to be free,
Such thought that no being can fathom,
My soul lingers like an unflinching phantom,

Shall these questions be answered in time,
Or shall it fade with this endless rhyme?

I ask but dare not seek clarity,
Fearful my heart and mind will once again embrace enmity,

One day I shall,

Look up all the answers and reasons life can tell,

Maybe then these questions may end,

And with that resolution, peace it may send......
