I find that people never seem to understand me. I feel disconnected from the world and at times I feel that I'm just not part of this world and the ambience around me.

When life itself get hard,
When fate puts forth its heartless card,
Everything takes a turn for the worse,
An entire existence seems like a curse,
Tears stream down in this darkened place,
The uncherished and un-remembered face,
The empty hand that stretches out,
The days are dark with this darkened cloud,
Where indeed is the light,
Where is the end of this painful plight,
Incomplete and forever searching,
Yet alive and merely existing,
Pain is undying and hope is simply a word,
All that is felt is the hurt....

A flicker of hope comes glimmering through,
A friend or two,
A hand on the shoulder,
A hand to cross that hurdle, that boulder,
A pat on the head,
A kind word often said,
The small squeeze of affection,
The moments that try dealt with patience,
A smile when all else fails,
A figure beside when everyone else bails,
A presence felt, loved and much cherished,
For nothing more could a person wish,
As the best of friends mean a world of difference,
It spells joy, love, trust and happiness...

But once in a while, God looks my way and smiles down on me. And through the shine of his grace comes a love like no other and a blessing that I have never failed to appreciate. I thank God every day for the beautiful friends and friendships I have been bestowed with. And truly, this is a blessing I will forever cherish.
